ELIZABETH MINISTRY

The Elizabeth Ministry offers woman-to-woman help. Following the example of Mary & Elizabeth at the Visitation in Luke 1:39-45, we visit and celebrate the sacredness of all life! The Church empowers women to relate with one another in a spirit of sisterhood at the important time of childbearing, offering support to them and their families. For more information visit: www.elizabethministry.com

MOMS

MOMS is an inspiring women’s ministry designed to encourage women in their role as mothers. It is a ministry about women bonded by their vocation in the Catholic faith who come together to share the joyful moments and daily challenges of motherhood. For more information call (716) 847-2205.

PROTECTING LIFE (WNY Coalition for Life)

The Western New York Coalition for Life is an ecumenical program dedicated to respecting the dignity and protection of human life from the moment of fertilization to natural death. We will provide access to a collaborative network of agencies and services promoting and supporting life. For more information visit: www.wnycoalitionforlife.org

END OF LIFE ISSUES

The Catholic Church teaches that all life, from conception to natural death, is sacred. However, modern medical advances have made end of life issues increasingly difficult to sort out. What is the difference between letting a person die and practicing euthanasia? Can Catholics have “living wills?” How much treatment must be provided to the sick and dying? This pamphlet gives an overview of these and other important moral issues surrounding life and death. (Pamphlet)

DISABILITIES ACTION TEAM

The Diocesan Council for Persons with Disabilities is an advisory council which communicates to the Bishop on issues and activities related to the spiritual needs of persons with disabilities and their families throughout the Diocese. Members of this council are appointed by the Bishop and consist of persons with disabilities and their advocates. Bishop Head initiated this council in 1975. RACHEL'S VINEYARD PROGRAM

The program is an opportunity to examine your abortion experience, identify the ways that the loss has impacted you in the past and present, and helps to acknowledge any unresolved feelings that many individuals struggle with after abortion. Because of the emotional numbness and secrecy that often surrounds an abortion experience, conflicting emotions both during and after the event may remain unresolved. These buried feelings can surface later and may be symptoms of post abortion trauma.

Married couples, mothers, fathers, grandparents and siblings of aborted children, as well as persons who have been involved in the abortion industry have come to Rachel's Vineyard in search of peace and inner healing. For more information visit: www.rachelsvineyard.org
