Catholic Women of Buffalo are excited to bring back the annual Women’s Conference themed  “For Such a Time as This”. All women are invited to join us for a full day event (7:45am-4pm) on Saturday, April 29th at St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute.  Tickets are $35 presale or $40 at the door.  The day includes a continental breakfast, Mass with Bishop Mike Fisher, 3 national speakers, lunch, confession, adoration, and vendors. An exceptionally popular speaker and teacher, Dr. Hahn has delivered numerous talks on a wide variety of topics related to Scripture and the Catholic faith. His talks have been effective in helping thousands of Protestants and fallen away Catholics to (re)embrace the Catholic faith. He has been awarded the Father Michael Scanlan, T.O.R., Chair of Biblical Theology and the New Evangelization at Franciscan University of Steubenville, where he has taught since 1999. Dr. Hahn will address evangelization within the family in his first session and then relate that effort to evangelization in the world in the second session.

Rev. Rob Contarin, Parochial Vicar at Our Lady of Victory Parish
Rev. Rob Contarin is a Parochial Vicar at Our Lady of Victory Parish in Lackawanna. He previously served at St. Mark and St. Rose of Lima Parishes in Buffalo. Rev. Rob, a graduate of St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute and Niagara University, grew up in the Town of Tonawanda. He is a young vibrant and holy priest.

St. Gianna Pregnancy Outreach Center 12th Annual Benefit Banquet will be on April 27th at Classics V on 2425 Niagara Falls Blvd., Amherst, NY at 6:00 pm. The keynote speaker will be Tony McFadden, a pro-life advocate and international speaker on abortion. She is the author of the book, Redeemed: My Journey after Abortion. Toni shares her abortion story of regret with transparency while leaving her listeners with hope. Toni recently spoke at the first annual Pennsylvania March for Life in Harrisburg and at the National March for Life in Washington, D.C. Toni has co-written op-eds for Students for Life of America, Live Action, Newsweek and was recently featured in the Washington Post. Special Guest: Honorable Shannon Filbert (the first woman justice in the Town of West Seneca). Learn how Shannon’s life has intersected through Family Court in Erie County with the St. Gianna Centers & the Mother Teresa Home.

On Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent, which is observed everywhere as a fast day, ashes are distributed.” (General Instruction of the Roman Missal, nos. 27-29) Ashes are blessed and imposed after the homily. These ashes are of branches of the olive tree, or, according to custom, of the palm tree or other trees, which have been blessed the previous year.
